Processing Activities

In this article, we will go through the first section of the Privacy module: Processing Activities. First, we will look at the Settings and learn how to modify the structure, and then we will look at how to maintain and use the module.

Overview

Processing Activities are one of Formalize's modules to enable storing data related to the topic of Data Privacy.  In this section you will be able to store information on the data your organisation processes. You can personalise the way this data is organised, to create your own custom-made structure. You can also create connections with other elements within Formalize, for example the Systems where data is stored.

In the below video we will cover:

  • Settings: standard fields and how to customise the structure.
  •  Processing Activities Overview:
    • How to add items.
    • How to correctly map all information to be gathered.
    • How to categorize what data is stored in which system, the relevant data subject categories, and the role the organization holds for each.

Articles mentioned in the video above:

  • For help creating custom fields, see our Fields article.

  • For guidance on setting up users so then you can assign responsibilities, check out the Management of users article
