How to submit your Register of Information: Spain, Banco de España

On this page, you’ll find a step by step guide to assist you with the reporting for Banco de España in Spain.

Step 1: Prepare your Register of Information

First, export your data reports from Formalize, ensuring that you select Spain as the country and Banco de España as the reporting platform.

The Banco de España has chosen not to follow the standard xBRL EU format for this submission. Instead, they require all data to be submitted using their custom xBRL format.
First, you will need to convert the data into their Excel template. Be sure to use the official template provided by BdE, download the template here:

You can directly copy the fields from our report into the BdE Excel template, unless a dropdown option is available — in that case, you should select the appropriate value from the dropdown list. Ensure that both the BdE Excel template and your Formalize file are open, and begin inserting your data into the template as demonstrated in the video below.

Step 2: Convert your file into the BdE custom xBRL format

Once your file is ready, go back to the first tab of the template you’ve been working on, where you can validate your information, and generate the custom BdE XBRL file through the same tab.

Banco de España also provides a step by step guide that you can follow here.

Step 3: Send your file to Banco de España

After generating the xBRL file, make sure to compress it into a ".zip" file to send to Banco de España.
